AT – Introduction To Handgun – April 18 2026 AFTERNOON

Description: Introduction to Handgun is a beginner handgun training course built around safe handgun handling and core shooting fundamentals. New format this year, the classroom block and hands on workshop are rebuilt to help students lock in grip, stance, sights, and trigger control before live fire. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome.
The classroom portion will give an overview of handguns as well as a workshop with inert guns to go over the fundamentals of shooting. During this time, a UTM gun will be used with SBR (Silent Blank Rounds) ammo in order to cycle the gun. Students will also be able to use their handgun in dryfire. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop in order to get the technique down prior to the live fire range time.
Objective: Learn safe handgun handling and basic marksmanship fundamentals while understanding how your handgun functions. By the end of the course you will feel confident operating your handgun safely and applying the fundamentals on the range.
Length: Approximately 5 hours total, about 2.5 hours in the classroom and 2 hours on the range, plus breaks and transitions.
Location: The Farm Training Center. Fairfield, Utah. Roughly one week before the class date an email will be sent to notify which bay and where to park.

Pre-requisites: None. This is an entry level course. However, regardless of your firearm experience we tailor the course based off student’s skillset so all levels will improve.
