SUMMARY:Titan Ballistics EMG National Championship
DESCRIPTION:Expedition Multigun is a new multigun match where only 2 guns are required on each stage. you can choose to shoot 3 or even 4 but either way It should be fast and furious. \n12   stages \nThe stages are looking great fast an furious just as EMG should be. We will have 12 stages for which you will need roughly 500 rounds spread between the 3 or 4 guns. There will be 2 slugs in the match\, If you can’t find slugs I have secured about 40 boxes of 5 that can be bought at the cost I paid $10 per box. Remember there is no long range in EMG\, every rifle steel will be between 50 and 100 yards. you will see some small rifle steel but mostly large and close. \nUnited Shooting Sports Leagues (ussleagues.com)

SUMMARY:PPS - Extreme Close Quarters Concepts (ECQC) w/ ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) course is a two-and-a-half-day (20-hour) block of instruction that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to building functional\, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle at arm’s length or closer. We emphasize the common body mechanics that apply across different skill sets. That way\, all combative software is reinforcing. Once students’ skill sets are ingrained\, they will be stress inoculated with force-on-force drills using marking cartridges and protective equipment. \nTo be clear\, this coursework is not for everybody. It is active\, physical\, and often quite a humbling experience. However\, our students are young and old\, male and female\, large and small\, outgoing and shy\, white collar and blue collar\, experienced and inexperienced. Regardless of your background\, a positive attitude and an open mind will take you far in the ShivWorks curriculum. \n\nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nCriminal Assault Paradigm\nUnequal Initiative Events\nManaging Unknown Contacts\nPractical Unarmed Combat or In-Extremis Knife modules\n\nDay 2:\n(Eight Hours)\n\nIntroduction to the components of the Combative Drawstrok\nBuilding the #2 position in live-fire\nFiring throughout the horizontal line of presentation\nOff-hand fending positions\nDefault position\nBasic empty hand blows\nTheory of in-fight weapon access\nGrounded basics\n\nDay 3:\n(Eight Hours)\n\nChallenging the potential attacker\nPreemptive weapon access\nMultiple attackers\nNegotiating the F.U.T.\nECQ Handgun retention in holster\nECQ handgun retention out of holster\nHandgun recovery\nHandgun striking\n\nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. Craig retired from law enforcement after 21 years of service with the bulk of his career spent in narcotics and SWAT. Since 2003\, Craig has been teaching globally under the ShivWorks brand and has conducted coursework on entangled shooting skills in nearly 40 states and nine foreign countries. SUMMARY:UDPL – GENERAL HANDGUN MATCH
DESCRIPTION:UDPL runs a number of club matches during the year that are general handgun matches unaffiliated with any other shooting organizations. They don’t have any special match rules and you don’t need an additional membership to shoot them. \nEach match is 8-10 stages and you will fire 200-400 rounds. \nGENERAL UDPL RULES\n\nSafety First Bring eye glasses and ear protection\nStrong side holster. Just needs to securely hold the firearm while holstered\n\nUDPL MATCH DIVISIONS\nDuring these general matches we usually have the following divisions. These include ICORE matches which are basically general matches with more revolver friendly stages. \nSEMI-AUTO PISTOLS\n\n1911 – 1911 45’s using 7 or 8 round magazines; no optical sights\nTRM – Ten Round (or less) magazines\, no optical sights or compensators\nHiCAP – High Capacity mags\, no optical sights or compensators\nOPEN – Anything goes within the bounds of safety. 22lr will also compete in this division\n\nREVOLVERS\n\nREV – Revolver – 8 round max\, no optical sights\nREVOP – Revolver – 8 round max\, optical sights OK\n\nBUG GUNS\nThese have a loose definition of any small size gun. Generally a 5 shot snubby revolver or a single stack semi auto with a barrel of 3 inches or less. These are the guns that no one shoots at matches but a lot of people carry. Bring a BUG gun to our yearly match or shoot one in a normal match for an extra challenge.

SUMMARY:UDPL - Multigun
DESCRIPTION:Multigun is an exciting new type of shooting sport that uses a rifle\, shotgun and pistol on various courses of fire. UDPL hosts four Multigun matches a year and one state level match. \nDue to the higher level of complexity involved in Multigun matches we require that you shoot one of our UDPL/IDPA Handgun matches with us before trying your first Multigun match. \nGenerally there are around 5-6 stages at a match. \nMultigun letter from the Match Director\nTo help you be more familiar with the United Multi-Gun League (UML) which is part of the United Shooting Sports League (USSL)\, I have some links to the websites and the rules. \nThe USSL is a new program bringing some unity into the shooting sports. There are ranking and qualification programs if you become a member of USSL. You don’t have to be a member of USSL to participate in our matches. If you choose to join at ussleagues.com your qualification levels will be determined by match finish. This is a huge shift from other organizations that use standard classifiers that are usually very simplistic and takes one or more of our stages we could better enjoy as a complete stage. \nIf you only compete at a club level\, you will gain a club level qualification. If you go to larger matches you can earn qualifications for each of the 4 levels. There is also a ranking system that reflects what you put into the sport as a participant\, a RO\, a builder\, MD\, RM etc. Please look to the website for better explanations. The UML as we are applying it (EMG scoring) is a fast-paced exciting multi-gun experience. \nIn addition to the standard divisions we have always had\, we have some new enticing divisions. In the standard divisions you will use the guns the stage calls for in the order it states\, same as it has always been. For those that don’t care for the shotgun we have 2-gun division. As with all divisions we will use two guns on all stages. The 2 gunners will always use rifle/pistol\, you will figure out how to solve the stage. Two big rules apply to this\, you must engage at least 3 targets with each gun and never shoot steel inside 45 yards with a rifle. You will most likely have a completely different plan than standard divisions. Think of your pistol as your shotgun. Example would be if it calls for slugs your pistol bullets are your slugs\, birdshot steel is pistol. YOU NEVER shoot aerial targets with pistol. If we put aerials in the match we will have an alternate steel for pistol bullets clearly defined on the stage brief. \nThe next new exciting division is 2X4 division there is a tac and an open version. This completely new division is very popular. You bring all 4 guns a rifle\, pistol\, shotgun\, and PCC to all stages and choose which 2 you want to use to solve the stage. The same two big rules apply 3 targets minimum engaged\, and no steel under 45 yards with a rifle. This too might have a different plan than the standard division. \nThe last new division is PCC division. The plan is simple for this one\, shoot everything with your PCC as it is the only gun you will use. \nIn all divisions regarding firearm transitions flat surfaces (pickup tables) can never be used as a dump. All abandoned firearms will be put in a provided dump in a downward manner (dump barrel or MGM slant box) pick up tables and dump barrels cannot be used as a shooting support. In some cases\, a MGM slant box could be used as a support if appropriate. Another difference from other programs is changing firearms throughout the match. You can switch and swap firearms as you see fit. We do require any firearm you choose to use is compliant with the division you are in. That said the caliber for any gun cannot change. An example if you are in Tac division and started with 223 and come to a speed stage you cannot switch to PCC. You could shoot a PCC as your “rifle” in any division but the caliber would have to remain the same throughout the match. \nA short explanation of how scores are calculated. The thing to remember is it is not total time scoring like in the old format\, we use points scoring. The time spent shooting each stage is converted to points\, the points for each stage are then added up and the person with the most points wins. Each stage is assigned a point value\, that value is equal to the fastest time on the stage. This is called best time equals points. \nHere is an example\, the fastest person on stage 1 shot it in 23 seconds it would be assigned 23 points\, stage 3 best time was 67 seconds it would be worth 67 points. This way a stage that is long and difficult has a higher points awarded than a short fast stage. Each competitor is awarded points based on their score in relation to the best score on the stage. Example: best time on the stage is 50 seconds that person receives 100% of the 50 points\, someone else shoots it in 65 seconds which is 77% of the best time so we calculate his points like this\, 50 points X .77=38.5 points awarded to that competitor. Add the points (not the time) for all stages for the final results. \nThe top question asked is how can someone have a higher accumulated time and finish ahead of someone with a lower accumulated time? The answer is the points the competitor earned on each stage. Here is an example\, competitor one shoots really well on several stages and acquires close to top points available on the five stages\, so say on the last stage he had lots of troubles and gets low points. Now we add all the stages points together he might still finish higher. To make the math easy we will use six 50 second stages which would have 50 points each available to earn\, for a total of 300 points available. \nCompetitor one on Stage 1 shoots it in 53 seconds that is 94% of the best time so he earned 47 points. Say he did the same for the next 4 stages\, then on the last stage he has a gun malfunction and shoots it at 130 seconds for that stage. That is 38% and earns 19 points. So if you add up his total time shot it is 395 seconds (remember time is only used on each stage to calculate the points he earned\, total time does not apply) his points are 50+50+50+50+50+19= 269 match points. \nCompetitor two Stage 1 shoots it in 60 seconds which is 83% of the stage best so he earns 41.5 points. To make math easy let’s say he does the same for all 6 stages. His total time adds up to 360 seconds (remember total time does not apply) 41.5+41.5+41.5+41.5+41.5+ 41.5= 249 points Competitor one 269 points (395 seconds) Competitor two 249 points (360 seconds) so competitor one would place ahead of competitor two. \nFor more information on the different leagues\, visit the website that hosts UML \nCarey Palmer\nUDPL multi-gun MD\nUML district 2 brand ambassador\n\nUDPL Multigun Divisions and Rules\nCurrent as of March 1st 2020 \nFull details of the divisions and rules can be seen at the link. Note that these have changed in 2018 with the switch to United Multigun League. \nOpen\nThis class is where anything goes as long as it’s safe. SUMMARY:PPS - Weaponized Geometry with Kinetic Consulting
DESCRIPTION:This class went so well in 2020 that we are bringing Jon back again in 2021! Read the full AAR from our 2020 class HERE. \nClose Quarters Combat is more than just running around a house with a gun. In this class\, we will cover the basics to CQB\, using geometry to your advantage\, and the intricacies of working alone. This class will not be team based. It is solo clearance and skills that would also work in a team setting (think: single officer response type scenario or bump in the night\, I need to clear my home scenario). All the shooting will be done with UTM Pistol non-lethal training munitions. \nThis is a Non-lethal munition based course using UTM marking rounds (Provided). NO LIVE AMMUNITION WILL BE USED \n(2 days\, 16-hour class) \n\nDay 1 will be concepts\, techniques\, and tactics\nDay 2 will be force-on-force scenarios\nClass begins at 0900 and goes until 1700\nUTM Pistol and ammo are included in the tuition for the course\n\nWho can attend? Anyone who has safe firearm handling skills. \n\nInstructor Bio:\n \nJon served with 3rd Battalion\, 75th Ranger Regiment\, deploying multiple times in various capacities. The Ranger Battalion also provided Jon with training and first hand experience in small unit tactics\, airborne operations\, field medicine\, breaching\, foreign languages and small arms. \nUpon leaving the Army\, Jon worked in executive protection and acted as a law enforcement consultant\, molding his military experience into a contextual view of the threats faced outside of combat environments. Jon comes to the firearms industry with an ideal blend of military and citizen; shaping his courses to apply to Mil\, LE and citizen students alike.

SUMMARY:NTC - Low Light Handgun
DESCRIPTION:Low Light Pistol (One day 6-8 hours) \nFighting in a diminished light capacity is nothing short of difficult.  In the modern world\, there are low lite areas even in broad daylight. These shadows and dark spots are a prime location for an adversary to attack you. Proper identification is an integral part of any armed encounter.  The use of a light will assist with that proper identification in periods of darkness. We will teach you the core skills of working with a pistol and multiple kinds of flashlights.  We will help you become proficient with your chosen handgun and your chosen light.  We will discuss and demonstrate the benefits and the problems of multiple different handgun techniques while deploying a handheld flashlight or weapon mounted light.  We will go over the advantages and disadvantages of each technique and show you as you use them and how they can help you and hinder you.  This course is based on hundreds of hours in the field with just the use of illumination devices.  We will NOT be using night vision optics in this course. A shooting and manipulation qualification will be held prior to being able to shoot in this course. Defensive Handgun 1 or an equivalent certification is required to attend this course! (MINIMUM ROUND COUNT – 300 rounds) \nBecause of the limited ammo supply you will be able to shoot this course with a quality Airsoft Gun.  Contact us to verify if yours is approved. \nEquipment List \n\nA replica pistol that matches your pistol being used for the course.\n(We recommend Rings Blue Guns)\nA properly functioning handgun (Night sights are highly recommended)\nWeapon mounted light if used regularly\nA proper fitting holster for that handgun (and light if used)\nAt least 3 magazines for that handgun (5 recommended if using single stacked mags)\n350-500 rounds of ammunition for that handgun\nMagazine Pouches for the magazines\nAt least two handheld lights and extra batteries for each\nPouches or device to hold both those lights on your person\nBody armor if you would wear it while deploying a pistol\nSharpie type pen for marking targets\nPen and notepad for taking notes\nHat or other head covering\nGloves (recommended but not mandatory)\nKnee and elbow pads\nEye and ear protection\nFootwear that you can stand in all day (boots are highly recommended)\nSunscreen or raingear (as applicable) (The course will go rain or shine)\nEnough water supply to sustain you for the day\nA lunch or snack food (We will not have time to leave the range for lunch)
