SUMMARY:PPS - Vehicle Combatives & Shooting Tactics (VCAST) with ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:In the Vehicle Combatives and Shooting Tactics course (VCAST)\, we develop firearms and empty-hand techniques for encounters that occur in and around vehicles. This is a twenty-four-hour block of instruction taught over three days. The coursework is contextualized for the problems an armed citizen might face while inside or near an automobile. Skills are demonstrated and taught using both operable and inoperable vehicles\, some of which will be shot or otherwise damaged throughout the course. Student vehicles are also used for certain portions of instruction (no damage will be done to student vehicles). VCAST is considered a more advanced course\, due to the nature of the developmental drills. Students must successfully complete Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) before enrolling in VCAST. This prerequisite is mandatory (no exceptions). \nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nPositional Dominance and parking tactics\nSurveillance Detection\nManaging encroachment and movement tactics\nTask Fixation problems on embuss\nHostile debuss problems (parallel and perpendicular)\n\nDay 2:\n(Eight + Hours)\n\nEngaging exterior targets front\, sides\, and rear live fire\nEngaging interior targets live fire\nUtilizing the vehicle as cover and positional shooting dynamics\nDebuss under fire\nManaging passengers and children\nIn traffic positional tactics\nMinimizing target profile while driving through ambush\nPushing through other vehicles\nOptimal in vehicle movement (modified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)\nManaging collisions and the Airbag Ambush\nOncoming traffic concerns\nLive fire vehicle penetration demo\n\nDay 3:\n(Eight+ Hours)\n\nStudent-versus-student developmental evolutions\n\nPrerequisite\nStudents must have already attended Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) in order to be eligible for VCAST. This requirement is mandatory (no exceptions). \nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. Craig retired from law enforcement after 21 years of service with the bulk of his career spent in narcotics and SWAT. Since 2003\, Craig has been teaching globally under the ShivWorks brand and has conducted coursework on entangled shooting skills in nearly 40 states and nine foreign countries. He has taught for federal\, state\, and local law enforcement agencies\, and to three branches of the U.S. military.

SUMMARY:PPS - Pistol LVL 1 & 2 with BAER Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Level 1 & 2 can be attended / completed individually. \nPistol LVL 1\n( -> register on the BAER Solutions website <- ) \nThis is a level 1 pistol course that will stress fundamentals\, and most importantly providing the “how” and the “why” in addition to what you are trying to accomplish throughout the training day. \nBy the end of the day each shooter will know where they are at and what to work on as you go forward in your training. This is not a course where you will just be led through drills and told what you are doing wrong. Here we will work on fixing them based on what works for you. Identifying your deficiencies and giving you the tools to improve is the end state of the class. We will progress from fundamentals to multiple target transitions and an intro into movement. \n\nThis class is meant as an intro to pistol shooting and is considered a level one class. We will cover the fundamentals for the majority of the day and focus on diagnosing the shooter’s individual problems to ensure progress.\nThe class will receive a safety brief\, medical plan\, loading unloading procedures\, range rules\, and of course filling out waivers before we begin.\nThe program of instruction for the day will begin with a standards test\, fundamentals\, actions such as scanning after an engagement\, and progress into multiple target engagements.\nStudents can use a concealed carry holster or an outside the waistband. Duty belts are recommended if that is what you primarily use.\nIf a student wishes to use a single stack pistol\, have the ability to carry 3 magazines on you\, in addition to your loaded magazine.\nMinimum round count is 550 for pistol\, and as always\, more ammo is better.\nOnce you are registered for this class you will receive a pre-class questionnaire to fill out and return and your class packing list.\n\n\nPistol LVL 2\n( -> register on the BAER Solutions website <- ) \nThis is a level 2 pistol course that will stress fundamentals\, and most importantly providing the “how” and the “why” in addition to what you are trying to accomplish throughout the training day. \nBy the end of the day each shooter will know where they are at and what to work on as you go forward in your training. SUMMARY:PPS - PROCTOR PISTOL PROCESS - "THE FUNDAMENTALS OF FAST" with Frank Proctor
DESCRIPTION:SHOOTING is my PASSION and PROFESSION\, I have been shooting or training almost everyday for the past 15 years. I have been a USPSA Grandmaster for the the past 10 years and served 15 years in the US Army Special Forces (full bio on website) In this course I offer my thoughts\, information\, experience  and ABILITIES to help you become the best shooter you want to be.  My goal is to teach you the way and give you an understanding of how to perform\, and how to train to perform better…always better\, Faster\, more Accurate\, Easier… \n( -> register on the Frank Proctor Shooting Website <- ) \nThe Proctor Shooting Process involves an in-depth understanding and mastery of the following 5 “Fundamentals of Fast” in order to shoot Fast\, Accurate\, Easy \nThese concepts apply to WINNING in Competition\, Combat or Recreational Shooting. \nPROCESSING\nShooting is VISUAL. Processing is the most important component and all the others are there to support the Processing. Visual information must come in through the eyes and be processed by the mind so that it can provide the best output. \nCONTROL\nRecoil and trigger control. Recoil control is important to give the eyes the correct relationship of rear sight\, front sight and target. Sights and triggers are the core fundamentals of marksmanship.  Trigger control is important to put the least amount of movement into the gun possible for a variety of scoring speeds. \nMECHANICS\nMechanics are the things required to get the gun in front of the eyes so that the mind can process information to provide output.  Mechanics such as draws\, reload\, malfunction\, clearance\, etc.\, should be efficiently done with fluid and repeatable hand speed in order to support the Processing and Mindset. \nMOVEMENT\nThe practical applications or shooting require movement.  It should be done the most efficient way possible to get the shooter from point A to point B so that they are in the best position possible to shoot and or to shoot effectively while covering ground. \nMENTAL CONTROL\nShooters must remain calm and allow the visual information to come in so that the mind can process the information and provide the best output.  We must maintain the mental control and visual discipline necessary to SEE what we need to SEE and LETITDO! \n( -> register on the Frank Proctor Shooting Website <- ) \nInstructor Bio\nI served over 20 years in the military and the last 16 of those in the US Army Special Forces.  In 2004 I attended SFAUC- Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course.  I knew then that being a better shooter would be a life long passion.  In between deployments and other duties at Group I was and assistant instructor for Combat Marksmanship\, CQB\, Breaching and the Sniper program.  I later became the NCOIC for the Sniper program and Primary instructor for Combat Marksmanship.  During that time I had the privilege to serve with and learn from some great dudes. \nIn May 2007 I started competitive shooting and found out what I didn’t know about shooting!  I started shooting a match almost every weekend and when I failed at something I would work on it during the week so I could see an improvement the next weekend.  I joined a range and trained almost everyday sometimes 2 times a day.  In January of 2009 I achieved the rank of Grand Master in USPSA Limited division.  I was the 4th ranked Limited GM in the world at that time\, but still made some mental mistakes in matches.  I was shooting at my peak in the summer of 2009 and started gearing up for another deployment.  In 2012 I started my training company full time. Most of what I have learned about shooting has come to me since then.  Something happened and I took a much more analytical approach to training and shooting instead of the classic just go do it 10\,000 times.  Looking back to 2009 when I was at my peak as a shooter I didn’t fully understand what was happening or really how to show other people how to do it.  I still don’t know everything about shooting and I don’t think anybody knows everything about anything.  I believe in having an explorative mind to continue to look for more information to make us better shooters.  My current training programs take an easy but in-depth\, cerebral approach to becoming a better shooter. \nI courses all over the USA (some international) as well as at my private training facility near Talladega\, AL. My facility features 11 pistol bays with over 100 AR 500 steel targets.  I have 3 dedicated rifle ranges out to 650 yards covered in steel targets. The rifle ranges offer natural terrain such as trees\, boulders and vehicles to shoot from.  Having this many ranges available allows shooters to get more challenging and effective reps in a shorter amount of time in order to hone the skills to win in any environment. I also have a pro shop on site with all the guns\, gear and accessories that I use. \nSince childhood I have been mechanically inclined to find solutions.  My first job in the Army was a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and that was my civilian career for about 5 years afterwards as well.  I enjoyed the diagnostic and problem solving aspects of being a mechanic.  When I received a vehicle with a problem I found it easier to diagnose the problem if I had a full understanding of how things were supposed to work.  When I became a shooter I definitely brought that aptitude with me.  When I use guns and gear my mind looks for a better and easier way to get things done. \nThanks for reading this and I hope it provides you with some insight into why I do the things I do.

SUMMARY:PPS - EDC PRACTICE EVENING
DESCRIPTION:Nothing too fancy\, no “teaching”\, just a group of shooters getting together to practice and #dowork. The idea is to observe and provide feedback to each other to improve performance… and maybe meet a few new local shooters who share the interest of getting better (whether that is for work\, competition\, defensive purposes or just for fun). \nThe primary focus of this practice session will be drills using your EDC / concealed carry set up. Don’t “game it”… practice with what you actually carry. This practice session will start at 18:00 in the daylight and go into dust / darkness as the sun should be setting right around 21:00. Bring what you carry… weapon mounted light\, pocket light\, phone light – whatever you plan on using in a real low light EDC situation. \nSign up using the “sign up now” link below\, space is limited. Targets\, stands\, sticks etc etc are provided\, just bring your personal gear\, show up and practice! Each practice day will have several stations set up to focus on different particular aspects of your shooting\, you are welcome to shoot all the stations or only the ones that interest you.
