SUMMARY:AT - Concealed Carry Red Dot 1 - May 3 2025
DESCRIPTION:The red dot equipped handgun has become the preferred conceal carry method for many responsible gun owners. Those who have experienced frustration with a red dot handgun are either frustrated because they cannot keep the dot steady enough in the window to take an accurate shot\, they lose the dot after recoil or cannot initially find the dot during presentation. Another potential frustration is their draw is not as fast as they want it to be from concealment. In this course\, you will learn how to confidently navigate through these frustrations or any optic malfunction that may arise with the red dot. \n  \nPrerequisites: Student must have a firm understanding of the Fundamentals and be safe throughout the course. \n  \nThis is not a beginner course. You’ll need to have a firm understanding of the fundamentals beforehand and should be able to consistently pass the 5×5 drill from concealment (target found on Luckygunner.com; just Google “5×5 Drill”). We will be starting the course with this drill to get an understanding of everyone’s skill level.\n \n  \nClass Instruction Includes: \n\nCarry Position\n \n\nAIWB and IWB: Why those carry positions. Benefits and Negatives of each\n\n\n\n\n\nCover Garments\n\nConsistency in draw with multiple cover garments.\n\n\n\n\n\nMRDS\n \n\nBrands to avoid\n\n\n\nConstant On VS Off when not in use.\n\n\n\nDot Brightness Setting for multiple environments and time of day.\n\n\n\nBattery Choices\n\n\n\n\n\nAmmunition Choices\n\nTarget Ammo\n\n\n\nSelf Defense Ammo\n\n\n\n\n\nZeroing MRDS\n\nOptic Zero\n\n\n\nZero Distance\n\n\n\n\n\nHandgun Fundamentals\n\nRed Dot Specific\n\n\n\n\nFinding the Dot\n \n\nDuring Presentation\n\n\nWhen lost during recoil\n\n\n\n\n\nReloads\n\nTactical versus Speed\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nPotential Optic Malfunctions: How to use optic when battery is dead\, emitter is not working\, or optic lens is occluded\n\n  \n  \n  \nRequired Equipment: Select More Info link below for complete course equipment list and more information.

SUMMARY:PPS - Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) with ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) course is a two-and-a-half-day (20-hour) block of instruction that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to building functional\, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle at arm’s length or closer. We emphasize the common body mechanics that apply across different skill sets. That way\, all combative software is reinforcing. Once students’ skill sets are ingrained\, they will be stress inoculated with force-on-force drills using marking cartridges and protective equipment. \nTo be clear\, this coursework is not for everybody. It is active\, physical\, and often quite a humbling experience. However\, our students are young and old\, male and female\, large and small\, outgoing and shy\, white collar and blue collar\, experienced and inexperienced. Regardless of your background\, a positive attitude and an open mind will take you far in the ShivWorks curriculum. \n\nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nCriminal Assault Paradigm\nUnequal Initiative Events\nManaging Unknown Contacts\nPractical Unarmed Combat or In-Extremis Knife modules\n\nDay 2:\n(Eight Hours)\n\nIntroduction to the components of the Combative Drawstrok\nBuilding the #2 position in live-fire\nFiring throughout the horizontal line of presentation\nOff-hand fending positions\nDefault position\nBasic empty hand blows\nTheory of in-fight weapon access\nGrounded basics\n\nDay 3:\n(Eight Hours)\n\nChallenging the potential attacker\nPreemptive weapon access\nMultiple attackers\nNegotiating the F.U.T.\nECQ Handgun retention in holster\nECQ handgun retention out of holster\nHandgun recovery\nHandgun striking\n\n-> SIGN UP THROUGH SHIVWORKS HERE <-\nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. Craig retired from law enforcement after 21 years of service with the bulk of his career spent in narcotics and SWAT. Since 2003\, Craig has been teaching globally under the ShivWorks brand and has conducted coursework on entangled shooting skills in nearly 40 states and nine foreign countries. He has taught for federal\, state\, and local law enforcement agencies\, and to three branches of the U.S. military.

SUMMARY:AT - Concealed Carry Red Dot 1 - August 9 2025
DESCRIPTION:The red dot equipped handgun has become the preferred conceal carry method for many responsible gun owners. Those who have experienced frustration with a red dot handgun are either frustrated because they cannot keep the dot steady enough in the window to take an accurate shot\, they lose the dot after recoil or cannot initially find the dot during presentation. In this course\, you will learn a repeatable process to solve each of these problems and keep the gun running through common optic issues\, including occluded lenses\, dead batteries\, and other failures that can happen in the real world. \n  \nThis is not a beginner course. You will need a firm understanding of the fundamentals and must be able to consistently pass the 5×5 Drill from concealment. SUMMARY:PPS - Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) with ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) course is a two-and-a-half-day (24-hour) block of instruction that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to building functional\, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. \nNotes:\n\nYou do not need any martial arts or combative experience to attend this course. You only need the ability to safely deploy your handgun from the holster.\nThe first four hours of day two and three are live fire training. You can train from concealment or overtly outside the waistband; neither option will impact the quality of your training experience. You must be able to safely and competently deploy/shoot/manipulate your firearm. This is not a pistol 101 course\, and a lack of basic weapons handling skills will result in you being asked to step off the firing line.\n\n\nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nCriminal Assault Paradigm\nUnequal Initiative Events\nManaging Unknown Contacts\nPractical Unarmed Combat or In-Extremis Knife modules\n\nDay 2:\n(Ten Hours)\n\nIntroduction to the components of the Combative Drawstrok\nBuilding the #2 position in live-fire\nFiring throughout the horizontal line of presentation\nOff-hand fending positions\nDefault position\nBasic empty hand blows\nTheory of in-fight weapon access\nGrounded basics\n\nDay 3:\n(Ten Hours)\n\nChallenging the potential attacker\nPreemptive weapon access\nMultiple attackers\nNegotiating the F.U.T.\nECQ Handgun retention in holster\nECQ handgun retention out of holster\nHandgun recovery\nHandgun striking\n\nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. He has taught for federal\, state\, and local law enforcement agencies\, and to three branches of the U.S. military.
