SUMMARY:AT - Practice Session - July 6 2024
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nJoin us for a unique opportunity to connect with me\, explore my teaching philosophy\, and engage with Advent Training alumni. This session also offers a chance to hone your skills in a relaxed practice environment. All are welcome\, regardless of skill level. We’ll provide all necessary range equipment\, including target stands\, backers\, shot timers\, and cones. While this isn’t a structured course\, safety is paramount\, and drills will only be conducted if attendees express interest. Please be considerate of others’ preferences during the event. \n  \nPrerequisites: None. However\, since this isn’t a formal course\, attendees must be self-aware of firearm safety rules and adhere to them at all times. \nDuration: 4 hours. \nLocation: The Farm Training Center\, Fairfield\, Utah. A week before the event\, an email will be sent detailing the bay location and parking instructions. \nEvent Start Time: 8:00 AM. Feel free to come and go\, but please arrive no later than 10:00 AM for a thorough practice session and safety briefing. We’ll conclude by 12:00 PM before the day heats up. \n  \nRequired Equipment: \n– Open Mind\n– Handgun\n– 50 rounds of reliable ammunition (minimum suggested amount)\n– Handgun Holster (Leather\, shoulder\, cross-draw\, or SERPA holsters are PROHIBITED)\n– 2 magazines (bring more if available\, especially for single-stack firearms)\n– Sturdy belt for holster\n– Notepad and pen (for note-taking)\n– Sharpie or Marker\n– Eye and Ear Protection (preferably electronic ear protection)\n– Closed-toe shoes or boots (no sandals)\n– Seasonal weather gear (rain\, cold) – we shoot rain or shine\n– Range-appropriate attire (no low-cut shirts)\n– Water/Drinks (bring more than anticipated\, as the Range lacks facilities but provides a Porta Potty) \n  \nRecommended Equipment: \n– Snacks\n– Brimmed Hat\n– Sunblock\n– Gun Cleaning Kit and Lubrication for Handgun\n– Medical IFAK (suggested but not required)\n– Magazine Holster \n  \nClass Size/Minimum: 15 Spots/ None \n  \n**For a complete course equipment list\, pricing\, and additional information\, select the “More Info” link below.**

SUMMARY:AT - Introduction To Handgun - July 20 2024 MORNING
DESCRIPTION:Description: This is designed to create a solid foundation for new shooters\, first time handgun owners\, those preparing to get their concealed carry or those who have never taken a training course. The course focus is safe weapon handling and becoming familiar with grip\, stance\, sight alignment/sight picture and trigger control. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome. \nThe classroom portion will give an overview of handguns as well as a workshop with inert guns to go over the fundamentals of shooting. During this time\, a UTM gun will be used with SBR (Silent Blank Rounds) ammo in order to cycle the gun. Students will also be able to use their own handgun in this dryfire workshop. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop in order to get the technique down prior to the range time. \n  \nObjective: Understand how to safely shoot your handgun while also having a knowledge of how it functions. By the end of the course you will feel more confident in your ability to use your firearm. \n  \nLength: 5 hour Course (2.5 hours in classroom and 2 hours on the range with some breaks). \n  \nPre-requisites: None. This is an entry level course. However\, regardless of your firearm experience we tailor the course based off student’s skillset so all levels will improve.\n \n  \nEquipment \nRequired*: \n\nOpen Mind\nHandgun\n150 rounds of reliable ammunition\nHandgun Holster (Leather\, shoulder\, cross-draw or SERPA holsters are PROHIBITED)\n2 magazines (Bring more if you have them\, especially if you have a single stack).\nSturdy belt for holster.\nNotepad and pen (Take Notes!)\nSharpie or Marker.\nEye and Ear Protection (electronic ear protection is preferred)\nShoes or boots\, no open toe or sandals\nSeasonal weather gear (i.e. rain\, cold).
