SUMMARY:AT – INTRODUCTION TO HANDGUN – August 6 2022
DESCRIPTION:This class is a 4 hour course which is designed to create a solid foundation for new shooters or those who have never taken a training course. It is also ideal for first time handgun owners\, or anyone preparing to take a conceal carry course. The course focus is safe weapon handling and becoming familiar with grip\, stance\, sight alignment/sight picture and trigger control. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome. \nThe classroom portion will give an overview of handguns as well as a workshop with inert guns to go over the fundamentals of shooting. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop in order to get the technique down prior to the range time. \n  \n  \nObjective: Understand how to safely shoot your handgun while also having a knowledge of how it functions. By the end of the course you will feel more confident in your ability to use your firearm. \n  \nLength: 4 hour Course (2 hours in class and 2 hour on the range). \n  \nCourse Start Time: 9:00 AM \n  \n\nPre-requisites: None. DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThis is a time to get to know me\, my teaching philosophy and advent training alumni. It is also to provide an opportunity to get a good practice session in. All are welcome regardless of your shooting experience. We will be providing all the range equipment (target stands\, backers\, targets\, shot timers\, cones\, etc.). This is an at your own pace event. No official drills will be setup unless the attendees would like. Feedback will be provided unless otherwise requested. \n  \nPre-requisites: None. However\, since this is not an official course\, the attendee will need to be self aware of all firearm safety rules and abide by them at all times. \n  \nLength: 4 hours. \n  \nLocation: The Farm Training Center. Fairfield\, Utah. Roughly one week before the event date an email will be sent to notify which bay and where to park. \n  \nEvent Start Time: 2:00 PM. Come and go as you please but arrive no later than 5:00 PM in order to get a good practice session in and to have a safety brief. DESCRIPTION:13 August 2022 0800 \nThe UDPL club annual Supershoot is an all steel match with roughly 300 rounds required. We will run this under the United Shooting Sports leagues USL format. The course focus is safe weapon handling and becoming familiar with grip\, stance\, sight alignment/sight picture and trigger control. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome. \nThe classroom portion will give an overview of handguns as well as a workshop with inert guns to go over the fundamentals of shooting. During this time\, a UTM gun will be used with SBR (Silent Blank Rounds) ammo in order to cycle the gun. Students will also be able to use their handgun in dryfire. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop in order to get the technique down prior to the range time. \n  \nObjective: Understand how to safely shoot your handgun while also having a knowledge of how it functions. By the end of the course you will feel more confident in your ability to use your firearm. \n  \nLength: 4 hour Course (2 hours in classroom and 2 hours on the range). \n  \nPre-requisites: None. This is an entry level course. However\, regardless of your firearm experience we tailor the course based off student’s skillset so all levels will improve.\n \n  \nEquipment \nRequired*: \n\nOpen Mind\nHandgun\n150 rounds of reliable ammunition\nHandgun Holster (Leather\, shoulder\, cross-draw or SERPA holsters are PROHIBITED)\n2 magazines (Bring more if you have them\, especially if you have a single stack).\nSturdy belt for holster.\nNotepad and pen (Take Notes!)\nSharpie or Marker.\nEye and Ear Protection (electronic ear protection is preferred)\nShoes or boots\, no open toe or sandals\nSeasonal weather gear (i.e. rain\, cold). We shoot rain or shine.\nRange appropriate attire. No low cut shirts.\nWater/Drinks (The Range has no facilities but does have a Porta Potty. If you conceal carry bring your everyday carry. If you have a duty rig use it throughout the course. \n  \nPre-requisites: \nAnyone who can display safe firearm handling throughout the course. It is important to understand the following: \nThis is NOT a beginners course. You should already know your way around the firing line and understand safety precautions before taking this class.
