SUMMARY:PPS - LOW LIGHT OPPOSED WITH SLYTAC TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:Low light opposed is our three day program that was created to combine our low light applications courses with reality based training with non-lethal training ammunition. Low light opposed focuses on how to effectively work in a low light environment while understanding the primary flashlight applications\, techniques\, and search methods on the carbine & handgun platform. \nOur goal is to aid in building confidence during low light structure work and help reduce the “lag time” during common issues found in structure procedures. This course will help to create a better understanding of reduced personnel patrol structure mechanics (2-3 man) and close quarter battle procedures combined with Reality Based Training (RBT) and Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA) and Non-Lethal Weapons. \nStudents will be introduced to CQB workshops\, force on target\, light force and finally force on force. Low light opposed will validate techniques & applications through force on target then evolving to force on force. Come prepared mentally & physically. \nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\n\nU.S. Citizen\nAble to legally carry a firearm\nAble to demonstrate and employ safe weapons handling during courses of fire\nPrevious intermediate to advanced firearms training to include courses of fire where movement\, barricades\, working around others\, communicating and adverse shooting positions were addressed\n\n\n\nInstructor Bio\nBryan Veliz began his career as a state law enforcement officer with the Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office in 2012 serving as an active patrol officer for several years. SUMMARY:PPS - #GETLEARNED 2022 – A FORCE ON FORCE TRAINING EVENT…
DESCRIPTION:A momentous training event unlike any other… this event will be 2 full days of force on force (FoF) training from some of the worlds most respected instructors in their disciplines. After seeing so many serious shooters\, who enjoyed and were passionate about training\, but had never had the opportunity to participate in any force on force training\, we decided that this event must happen. We are brining a curated selection of condensed FoF training available right here to UT\, for a weekend that is surely to build and contribute to the defensive mindset and skillset of the serious self defense practitioner. This event is open to professionals\, experts and beginners alike. \nAll training blocks will be 8 hours of training (with a 1 hour lunch break mid day)\, so plan on full\, exhausting days. Each training block will be limited to 12 students\, providing a better than industry average instructor to student ratio to maximize the learning potential. Each student will have the opportunity to sign up for 2 x 8 hour training blocks of their choice – registration for training blocks will be offered in the order of registration for the event\, so those who commit early will be more likely to get the exact blocks they prefer. That being said\, the event has been planned with only the best training available\, so all participants will receive great training. \nThis is a Non-lethal munition based training event using UTM marking rounds and other training weapons (Provided). \nNO LIVE AMMUNITION WILL BE USED.\n  \nTraining Block Options\nKnife Control Concepts – Aaron Jannetti – Endeavor Defense & Fitness\n \nA committed knife attack tops the charts of “Worst Fears in Close Violent Encounters” in and out of the self defense training world. Each attack\, attacker\, and situation is different. Training a one-dimensional defense for knife attacks can leave us ill equipped and with a false sense of security. Learning the concepts and skills to adapt is crucial to being able to survive. \n[more-reasons text=”More info about Knife Control Concepts”]\nThis one day training event will lay a foundation of concepts and training methodology to help you reframe your approach to defending a knife to be more aligned with a dynamic attack. \nIn short\, this training will super-charge your ability to execute your plan for self defense under changing variables. \n— \nWhat you get: \n\nOne 8-hour training day (8am-5pm with a 1 hour lunch break)\nAccess to the 30-day Knife Control Concepts Stand-Up Online Course\nTraining blade to use during the course and take home with you after the #getlearned event\n\nThe Training: \n\nOn Your Feet – Deep dive into the KCC program\, skill building\, stand-up control elements\, adaptation drills\, striking\, and implementing these concepts into your current training protocol.\nOn the Ground – Introduction to the initial elements of the KCC Ground program. Practical skill building\, adaptation\, and how the concepts from stand up apply to training on the ground.\n\nThe Promise: \n\nYou will be given a set of tools and concepts that will greatly expand your understanding of defending against an edged weapon.\nYou will be given the tools to continue training AFTER the seminar to really implement the training.\nYou will have a ton of fun doing it!\n\n[/more-reasons] \n\nDefensive Scenario Based Training – Jon Dufresne – Kinetic Consulting\nA applications based class that allows students to apply the skills and knowledge they currently have to the problems presented to them. This carefully structured block of training emphasizes the development of critical thinking and problem management skills when opposition may be present. \n[more-reasons text=”More info about Defensive Scenario Based Training”]\nResearch (military\, commercial airlines\, medical industry etc) has proven that learning is enhanced when training is realistic. Scenario Based Training (SBT) is an immersive training environment where students meet realistic challenges and get realistic feedback as they progress (or regress)\, since everything that happens reflects the students choices. Shooting fundamentals are still a vital part of  training\, but the use of real-world scenarios is used to also enhance the students decision making capabilities. The training presents situations and circumstances that armed citizens and/or LEOs face everyday as learning experiences. \nParticipants should be confident in basic shooting fundamentals. SUMMARY:PPS - Vehicle Combatives & Shooting Tactics (VCAST) with ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:In the Vehicle Combatives and Shooting Tactics course (VCAST)\, we develop firearms and empty-hand techniques for encounters that occur in and around vehicles. This is a twenty-four-hour block of instruction taught over three days. The coursework is contextualized for the problems an armed citizen might face while inside or near an automobile. Skills are demonstrated and taught using both operable and inoperable vehicles\, some of which will be shot or otherwise damaged throughout the course. Student vehicles are also used for certain portions of instruction (no damage will be done to student vehicles). VCAST is considered a more advanced course\, due to the nature of the developmental drills. Students must successfully complete Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) before enrolling in VCAST. This prerequisite is mandatory (no exceptions). \nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nPositional Dominance and parking tactics\nSurveillance Detection\nManaging encroachment and movement tactics\nTask Fixation problems on embuss\nHostile debuss problems (parallel and perpendicular)\n\nDay 2:\n(Eight + Hours)\n\nEngaging exterior targets front\, sides\, and rear live fire\nEngaging interior targets live fire\nUtilizing the vehicle as cover and positional shooting dynamics\nDebuss under fire\nManaging passengers and children\nIn traffic positional tactics\nMinimizing target profile while driving through ambush\nPushing through other vehicles\nOptimal in vehicle movement (modified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)\nManaging collisions and the Airbag Ambush\nOncoming traffic concerns\nLive fire vehicle penetration demo\n\nDay 3:\n(Eight+ Hours)\n\nStudent-versus-student developmental evolutions\n\nPrerequisite\nStudents must have already attended Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) in order to be eligible for VCAST. SUMMARY:PPS - Extreme Close Quarters Concepts (ECQC) w/ ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) course is a two-and-a-half-day (20-hour) block of instruction that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to building functional\, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle at arm’s length or closer. We emphasize the common body mechanics that apply across different skill sets. That way\, all combative software is reinforcing. Once students’ skill sets are ingrained\, they will be stress inoculated with force-on-force drills using marking cartridges and protective equipment. \nTo be clear\, this coursework is not for everybody. It is active\, physical\, and often quite a humbling experience. However\, our students are young and old\, male and female\, large and small\, outgoing and shy\, white collar and blue collar\, experienced and inexperienced.
