SUMMARY:PPS - ARMED MOVEMENT IN STRUCTURES (AMIS) WITH SHIVWORKS
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Armed Movement in Structures (AMIS) course is a two-day (20-hour) block of instruction focusing on negotiating movement problems within buildings with limited or no resources. Moving through a structure that contains armed hostiles\, perhaps by oneself\, is probably the most dangerous task one can undertake. This course presents the best options for winning a confrontation under those circumstances\, with the qualification that there is simply no fail-safe way to do this. \nFirst Day (12 Hours): \n\nViewing the environment in terms of the unseen\nVertical\, Horizontal\, and Diagonal planes of visual obscurement\nDistance variables and the visual apex\nThreshold evaluation\nDynamic and Deliberate movement\nRoom Entry factors (known versus unknown)\nMinimizing multiple exposure\nModifying the fighting platform to conform to cover and concealment\nRe-setting/Disrupting the adversary’s OODA loop\nChalk board exercises\nDry-runs\nFoF evolutions\nLow-light module\n\nSecond Day (Eight Hours): \n\nPractical Exercises for egress\, search\, and third-party rescue\n\nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. Craig retired from law enforcement after 21 years of service with the bulk of his career spent in narcotics and SWAT. Since 2003\, Craig has been teaching globally under the ShivWorks brand and has conducted coursework on entangled shooting skills in nearly 40 states and nine foreign countries. He has taught for federal\, state\, and local law enforcement agencies\, and to three branches of the U.S. military. \n
