SUMMARY:AT - Introduction To Handgun - April 18 2026 MORNING
DESCRIPTION:Description: Introduction to Handgun is a beginner handgun training course built around safe handgun handling and core shooting fundamentals. New format this year\, the classroom block and hands on workshop are rebuilt to help students lock in grip\, stance\, sights\, and trigger control before live fire. Both iron sight and red dot handguns are welcome. \n  \nThe classroom portion will give an overview of handguns as well as a workshop with inert guns to go over the fundamentals of shooting. During this time\, a UTM gun will be used with SBR (Silent Blank Rounds) ammo in order to cycle the gun. Students will also be able to use their handgun in dryfire. Each student will have the opportunity to participate in this workshop in order to get the technique down prior to the live fire range time. \n  \nObjective: Learn safe handgun handling and basic marksmanship fundamentals while understanding how your handgun functions. By the end of the course you will feel confident operating your handgun safely and applying the fundamentals on the range. \n  \nLength: Approximately 5 hours total\, about 2.5 hours in the classroom and 2 hours on the range\, plus breaks and transitions. \n  \nLocation: The Farm Training Center. Fairfield\, Utah. Roughly one week before the class date an email will be sent to notify which bay and where to park. \n  \nCourse Start Time: 8:00 AM \n  \nPre-requisites: None. This is an entry level course. However\, regardless of your firearm experience we tailor the course based off student’s skillset so all levels will improve. \n  \nSelect “More Info” link below for complete course equipment list\, pricing and more information.

SUMMARY:PPS - Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) with ShivWorks
DESCRIPTION:The ShivWorks Extreme Close Quarter Concepts (ECQC) course is a two-and-a-half-day (24-hour) block of instruction that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to building functional\, combative handgun skills at zero to five feet. The course is designed to instill core concepts of seamless integration and provide the platform for aggressive problem solving during a life or death struggle at arm’s length or closer. We emphasize the common body mechanics that apply across different skill sets. That way\, all combative software is reinforcing. Once students’ skill sets are ingrained\, they will be stress inoculated with force-on-force drills using marking cartridges and protective equipment. \nTo be clear\, this coursework is not for everybody. It is active\, physical\, and often quite a humbling experience. However\, our students are young and old\, male and female\, large and small\, outgoing and shy\, white collar and blue collar\, experienced and inexperienced. Regardless of your background\, a positive attitude and an open mind will take you far in the ShivWorks curriculum. \nNotes:\n\nYou do not need any martial arts or combative experience to attend this course. You only need the ability to safely deploy your handgun from the holster.\nThe first four hours of day two and three are live fire training. You can train from concealment or overtly outside the waistband; neither option will impact the quality of your training experience. You must be able to safely and competently deploy/shoot/manipulate your firearm. This is not a pistol 101 course\, and a lack of basic weapons handling skills will result in you being asked to step off the firing line.\n\n\nDay 1:\n(Four Hours)\n\nCriminal Assault Paradigm\nUnequal Initiative Events\nManaging Unknown Contacts\nPractical Unarmed Combat or In-Extremis Knife modules\n\nDay 2:\n(Ten Hours)\n\nIntroduction to the components of the Combative Drawstrok\nBuilding the #2 position in live-fire\nFiring throughout the horizontal line of presentation\nOff-hand fending positions\nDefault position\nBasic empty hand blows\nTheory of in-fight weapon access\nGrounded basics\n\nDay 3:\n(Ten Hours)\n\nChallenging the potential attacker\nPreemptive weapon access\nMultiple attackers\nNegotiating the F.U.T.\nECQ Handgun retention in holster\nECQ handgun retention out of holster\nHandgun recovery\nHandgun striking\n\nInstructor Bio:\nCraig Douglas (aka “SouthNarc”) is the founder of ShivWorks\, a consortium of like-minded professionals devoted to training and product development in the emerging field of interdisciplinary problem-solving for self-defense. Craig retired from law enforcement after 21 years of service with the bulk of his career spent in narcotics and SWAT. Since 2003\, Craig has been teaching globally under the ShivWorks brand and has conducted coursework on entangled shooting skills in nearly 40 states and nine foreign countries. He has taught for federal\, state\, and local law enforcement agencies\, and to three branches of the U.S. military.

SUMMARY:AT - Concealed Carry Red Dot 1 - June 13 2026
DESCRIPTION:Description: \nThe red dot equipped handgun has become a preferred concealed carry setup for many responsible gun owners. Common frustrations show up in different ways\, not finding the dot during presentation\, the dot moving too much in the window to confirm an accurate shot\, losing the dot after recoil\, or an inefficient concealed draw that breaks your index and slows you down. In this course\, you will learn a repeatable process to solve each of these problems and keep the gun running through common optic issues\, including occluded lenses\, dead batteries\, and other failures that can happen in the real world. \n  \nThis is not a beginner course. You will need a firm understanding of the fundamentals and must be able to consistently pass the 5×5 Drill from concealment. Google “5×5 drill” to find the target and standard\, it is available from multiple sources. We will start the course with this drill to confirm baseline skill and tailor coaching. \n  \nClass Instruction Includes: \n\nCarry position selection and setup\n\nAIWB and strong side IWB\, why these positions\, benefits and tradeoffs\n\n\n\n\nCover Garments\n\ngarment management\, and draw consistency across different clothing\n\n\n\n\nMRDS fundamentals\n\nOptic selection\, what to look for\, what to avoid\, and durability considerations\n\n\nConstant on vs off when not in use.\n\n\nOne dot brightness setting for multiple environments and time of day.\n\n\nBattery choices\, maintenance habits\, and replacement schedule planning\n\n\n\n\nAmmunition considerations\n\nTarget ammo versus carry ammo and why it matters\n\n\n\n\nZeroing MRDS\n\nConfirming zero\n\n\nZero distance selection\, and verification process\n\n\n\n\nHandgun Fundamentals\n\nRed Dot Specific\n\n\n\n\nFinding the dot during presentation\n\nBuilding a repeatable index\n\n\n\n\nReloads\n\nAdministrative versus emergency\nMaintaining dot awareness during reload work\n\n\n\n\nPotential Optic Malfunctions\, how to effectively run the gun when:\n\nBattery is dead\nEmitter is not working\nOptic lens is occluded\n\n\n\n  \nObjective: \nHave a firm understanding of how to safely and efficiently deploy your handgun from concealment and acquire the dot on demand during every presentation. By the end of this course your draw will be more efficient and consistent\, and you will know how to keep the gun running through common optic problems. \n  \nClass Size/Minimum: Max of 12/Minimum 4 \n  \nPrerequisites: Student must have a firm understanding of the Fundamentals and be safe throughout the course. \n  \nCourse Length: 9 hours approximately on the range with a lunch break.
